Nose: Classic and refined with wonderful freshness of ripe, black fruit with hints of white pepper and violets. Taste: Concentrated and mouth-filling from the initial palate, through the mid-palate and into the aftertaste, the wine’s refined elegance is made up of beautifully-clean, ripe red and black fruit-flavours with integrated spicey oak nuances and supple tannins. Ageing potential: Historically, the wines from this vineyard have gracefully matured well into their second decade and there should be no reason why this wonderful vintage should be any different. Food pairing: Enjoys the challenge of all game dishes (fished, feathered or furred) and particularly enjoys the “lesser cuts” like neck, tail and shin. It will handle, with ease, quite a bit of spiciness – although without too much heat and loves being paired with slow-cooked stews.
